Since it is that "BACK TO SCHOOL" time of year - let's all take a moment to reflect back on our own experiences as young students Share with us one of your favorite school memories!!! And of course, for participating, you will be enter to win a scrappy prize shown below! My oldest daughter just started Kindergarten this year and so I have been thinking a lot about what Kindergarten was like for me. I can remember feeling "all grown up" the first time my best friend and I were allowed to walk to school all by ourselves. We held hands the whole way I try to hang on to that feeling of how I felt being able to do something by myself, how important I felt, now that I am on the other end of things!!! It is time to let her go a little bit and I know that she is just as proud of herself as I was when I was her age Attachments:

My favorite school memory is wearing a really cute plaid dress my mom bought for me to school for the very first time when I was in the first grade. My mom made most of our clothes and to have a store bought dress was really special. I still remember the colors and the feel of the material and that was 39 years ago! Oh, my! that's weird, I'm only 29 (again1) LOL!

This may sound completely sappy, but my favorite school memory was sitting in the school library chatting with my friends when I was in 10th grade when this amazingly handsome young man walked up to me and introduced himself as Travis. He asked me if I liked old cars...and sat with me showing me a magazine he was looking at. Then everyday he started showing up in the library. We would sit and talk until we had to leave for classes. That was the day my life changed forever. I love that man.

One of my favorite school memories was back when I was in 4th grade. On Valentine's day a little boy I had a crush on gave me a Valentine's basket full of candy. I kept that basket all the way through High School... I wonder if my mom still has it. LOL!

Senior year, I had such a good group of girlfirends, that we girls decided we'd go as a group to the Prom. We had a blast! No pressures of sticking with your date, but hanging out with the girls. I went to Prom all four years of highschool the 1st 3 with a date, so yes Senior year Prom was the Best. I'm lucky to still be friends with the girls though all of us are scattered from AZ, TX, FL, NY, and CA.

My favorite grade school memory was one from third grade...........Our teacher, Mr. Nelson, would take us on short little "field trips" to the local store that was a few blocks away.........we could buy candy or pop or whatever we wanted if we had the money....if not, he would buy us something special to take back to school with us! Then, after we got back to school, we would sit on our desks and play a couple games of "MUM BALL".........aaaaahhhhh, those were the days!! lol!!

some wonderful memories, it's fun to hear about them.
5th grade i moved, started a new school and had to make all new friends. I was pretty scared. This girl with really long black hair & this boy who was as skinny as can be talked to me and made me feel like i wasn't the new girl anymore. Well 20 years later she's still my best friend and he's my husband!

One of my favorite memories was when I was when I was in 5th grade I loved to write and the poem I wrote allowed me to be chosen to go to a writer's conference where I got to meet several author's and received their books signed by them. It was really a neat thing.

Mine is fitting... In third grade, I won a spelling BEE. I got to wear a crown all day. I remember feeling very special. I remember in second grade, we chose one kid per week to be 'praised'. A picture was hung up, and we all were to write something very nice about them. I loved when it was my turn, but I also loved thinking of something to write about everyone else. I learned that you can find at least one good quality about anyone. MANDY

Mine is actually going to school in the 3rd grade . . . it was my first day back in the room with my new GLASSES . . . I was mortified. I remember everyone making fun of me except my teacher and my bff Richie. I'm not sure whatever happened to Richie . . . but my teacher is now one of my good friends!! I got the chance to teach with her for 5 awesome years!!
